“We don’t have to go shopping today, do we?” I asked, my anxiety half-real, half-fake.
“Good heavens, no. You don’t need anything, do you?”
“Nope. It’s just that this is the biggest shopping day of the whole year and I didn’t want you to feel obliged to miss out on the fun.”
“Been a long time since I called that sort of thing fun.”
“S’pose so. Any choccies left in that box?”
“Yerse. A few. Here, take the box and have a rummage.”
A little while later, after much rustling and several “Yum’s”, I said: ”There’s just one toffee left now. Would you like it?”
“Not particularly.”
“Oh. That’s a shame. Here’s me wanting to see what’s in the next box but I can’t because we’ve not finished this one.”
“Give it ‘ere.”
Within seconds that last toffee was munched away to nothing but a memory and yet another reminder of how like life is to a box of choccies.

And probably, most unfortunate for me, I don’t recall ever having met a choccie of any sort that I couldn’t really stand. Maybe not quite like, but never so bad I couldn’t finish it!

Hahahahahahah! Second time today that I’ve laughed so hard! Or, as the Koreans say, “Laughed until my bellybutton almost popped out!”

We didn’t go yesterday but did go today to one store. No crowd at all. Got a new door wreath but was looking for more led lights. None.
No curtain panels either. Dollar store time!

I had some wonderful chocolate fudge that someone had given me. I brought it home the other day and put in on the kitchen counter. I went to get a piece today….
Jim had eaten it ALL!!!

I haven’t eaten chocolates in years. I like all of them, even the jelly filled, which a lot of people don’t like.

Oh, I like all choccies, even the violet cream kind that are really made for yesterday’s grannies. But, chocolate-covered toffees are a challenge. It’s the denture, you see… but we’ll not go into that…

LOL! One of my favorites sweets are Milk Duds – and every time I eat them, I worry about pulling one of my crowns off.

Ah, choccy. One of the sacred foods. Yes. I don’t have any choccy candy but my grandson-the-chef gave me a batch of the best choccy cookies I’ve ever had — tender as fudge but not too sweet. He has promised to give me the recipe because I promised to hurt him if he didn’t.

You look at the box, at all the darlings set out in their little pleated paper cups, and you speculate on the innards of each one. Will I like him/her/it? Will it taste good? Will she please me? Is he the one?
Yes, life is like chocolates. You don’t know until you take a bite.

I just had to say that Sarah (Rhubarb) described the box beautifully, didn’t she? and I do hope Dee shares the recipe for the cookies! Mmmmm. They sound delicious!
