Low cloud

LOW CLOUD

Above the cloud line
and across the valley,
the mountain road leads up to the peak

and beyond, possibly, into the
remotest limits of the sky.

I look up, smile quietly, and
sing a song of earthbound content.

A silly smile

December 22, 2008 · 6 Comments

Monday December 22, 2008

Yesterday was the shortest day of the year, and today was just a little longer, taking us all along towards the long, lazy days of summer.  Roll on.

Not that I’m regretting the season, you understand.  I love Christmas and I’ve been wandering around with a daft smile on my face all day, especially along the aisles in the Supermarket.

Some people smiled back.

I’m awful tired now, though, at 19:13, and wanting a glass of wine and a bit of TV before dinner.

One last big-time shopping expedition tomorrow, then we can pop over to take a pressie and mince-pies to Graham’s mother, return home, close the door, and celebrate the way we like best.  At home.

I took some video at Sainsbury’s today and I’ll try to put it together for the journal very soon.
