With Graham leading the way, we’re both of us treading a slightly unsteady path towards recovery. And not before time.
Speaking to other people, it seems that this dreadful winter cold is widespread across Britain and the Continent, and in North America, too. Year after year it’s the same and yet no progress is made in finding a cause, let alone a cure.
Me, I’d make it compulsory for bankers and other financial tradespeople to take part in research programs worldwide, aimed at curing the darned thing.
Or not. Twenty-four hour coughing does little for the mood and even less for the temper.
Today we ventured out to get provisions in for the weekend, along with a few of the necessaries for a successful Christmas. We’re reckoning that a quiet weekend at home, again, is a good idea, and that we should hit the shops on Monday to see if we can cover all the non-food shopping in one go. I’ve been busy on Amazon, and very pleased so far with my efforts. One parcel and one packet seem to be subject to delay but I have time to get them sorted.
On Monday I’d like to get Graham a decent sweater, and another silly present. Neither of us are spending too much this year. It’s not a matter of being unable to do it. Rather, it’s a mix of commonsense and decency. There are many, many people out there who just can’t do very much.
So, back on the air. Not very interesting but… “I’ll try to do better tomorrow.”
