The top floor of the house is now completely disintegrated, with everything packed away except my strangely tidy little white desk and the spare bed in the back bedroom. Oh and pictures. Graham always leaves pictures on the wall until close to the very last.
The middle floor is under attack as I speak, has been since mid-day, with the total dismantling and careful packing of the hi-fi and the unit that housed it. Hi-fi is a beast to pack if it’s to make the transit safely. It takes a lot of time, and Graham doesn’t want to skimp on it.
He’s promised me a couple of spaces in the living room where we can lounge and watch a bit of TV from about 7:05 when Merlin starts. Not a lot on TV just now, and not a lot of time for us to watch it. We have been squeezing in an episode or two of Stargate SG-1 and Farscape most evenings, sometimes with a Smoking Room to flesh it out.
Thank goodness for DVDs, with their ability to fill gaps in the evening before we eat and then collapse exhausted into bed.
And Dolly? She’s not bothered. She’s so much not bothered that she’s sound asleep on the spare bed, snuggled into the cushions and with feet safely in the air. I always reckon that a cat who’s sleeping on her back with feet safely in the air is about as not bothered as it’s possible to be.
