For a day that started so early–I was sitting outside the dentist’s office at 08:10–it’s been a remarkably dull and eventless day.
The dental inspection went fine and I’m set to attend early in September for a deep clean followed a week later by the extraction of two upper teeth and their replacement by two new teeth on my denture. The cleaning is on one day, which is unremarkable, but the extraction and replacement is to take place all on the one day. I wonder at the marvels of modern dentistry.
The good thing is that it’ll all be done long before we can possibly move to Wales. There isn’t a bad thing.
All quiet on the house front, much as I’d expected.
A more-or-less vegetarian meal for dinner tonight: potato cooked in the jacket, filled with coleslaw, baked beans, and good cheddar cheese melted overall. And strawberries for dessert, if Graham has stopped stealing them one at a time from the fridge. Washed down with a plain white wine from d’Oc, wherever d’Ek that is; it’s cheap, that much I do know. [Just kidding, it's a wine from Languedoc, in the South of France.]
And, finally, a little bit of worrying news from our friend Bonnie in Texas–she’s been taken into hospital for treatment of a spine condition. That’s not fun, and I shall be thinking of her, and her husband, as the evening wears on.
